Objectives
An initiative called “Himalaya Mein Heeron Ki Khoj”. The initiative is supported by Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd was launched in 2017. The first phase of this initiative was conducted in the state of Uttarakhand, where trials were conducted in all the thirteen districts of the state. A total of 6 athletes were selected at the end of the programme and are currently undergoing training in Dehradun under supervision of dedicated coaches and support staff. The second phase of the initiative was conducted in April, 2018 in Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura. The third phase was executed in the states of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya and the hilly region of West Bengal.
